I've written The Christmas Plan to share my thoughts about why I think what happened on that first Christmas Day brought Joy to the World, why it was an expression of God's Goodwill to Men and most of all, how I believe the birth of Jesus brought Hope to the World and made it possible for individuals to know Peace with God.

How is it that a baby’s birth?

Could bring about a ‘Peace on Earth’

What did it mean, ‘Goodwill to men’?

That winter's night in Israel, when

The watchers in the fields were told 

Their shepherding to put on hold,

And run to see that it was true...

Heaven to earth had broken through. 

The pivot point, the change, the turning, 

Hope at last for each soul’s yearning.

‘Joy to the World’, ‘Goodwill to men’.

Was given that night in Bethlehem. 

A plan way back through time, forecast 

Eternal Love, the One so vast 

Who loved and cherished those He’d lost 

Would come himself - at such a cost.

The only way He could redeem 

The ones he loved with Love supreme. 

And so began the Christmas story.

Left a place of radiant glory 

Stepped on to Earth, this World He trod, 

Flawless human, fully God. 

Served the ones He came to save.

Healing, Life and Hope He gave. 

Came to buy them back again.

Advent Joy - but Easter pain.

To break the curse He paid the Price 

A perfect Aslan sacrifice 

On behalf of all mankind.

Ransom paid, Transaction signed.

A gift that brought true restitution

A perfect gift… Divine solution.

And what He did so long ago 

Changed the world forever, so

Peace with God… now offered free. 

But like a gift beneath a tree

Should be unwrapped to be received, 

This gift’s for those who just believe

That Jesus’ death (as God and man)

Now gives them Life - His Christmas Plan.

And full atonement this will bring.

Eternal Winter turns to Spring.
